FAQs about
Experiential Field Trips

Absolutely. As the classroom teacher, you are responsible for ensuring your students are representing their school well and on their best behaviour. The WILDE School facilitator(s) will take care of the programming.

WILDE School Yukon staff are passionate about outdoor learning. They strive to see learners become inspired to learning more about the world around them. They are also certified teachers who have either been a classroom teacher for years or work part-time in a Yukon school.

Our staff have either taught extensively in Yukon Schools or currently work part-time in Yukon Schools. We understand how difficult it can be to organize, plan, pack, facilitate, drive and debrief outdoor excursions.

By signing up your class for an EFT, you are essentially partnering with a certified teacher and outdoor educator for the day or half-day.

The program will be led by WILDE School Yukon staff. You will actually have time for all of the other things, like student assessment and ensuring students meet behavioural expectations.

Perhaps you are new to experiential and outdoor field trips. This will be a great opportunity to watch someone who works in this field everyday facilitator your class. Watching someone else work with your class is also a form of PD.

It also gives you a unique perspective to observe your students without the burden of teaching in the spotlight.
